Elliptical Compensator
Overview
An elliptical compensator advances and retards the index pin/detent, and is used to make all divisions equal when using the elliptical / ellipse chuck. A picture of one from Frank Knox's rose engine is shown in the Ornamental Turners International Newsletter, Volume 30, No. 2, pg. 18.
